LG CNS to Deploy Smart Poles in Hogansville, Georgia

Smart Poles

The City of Hogansville, Georgia, has partnered with South Korea’s leading artificial intelligence transformation (AX) company, LG CNS, to deploy cutting-edge smart infrastructure, marking the company’s first United States municipal project.

The initiative aims to install advanced smart poles and an integrated control system managed by LG CNS’s proprietary smart city platform, Cityhub Building, enhancing public safety, connectivity, and urban management.

The smart poles will merge traditional street lighting with advanced Internet of Things (IoT) technology, including lighting control, public Wi-Fi, AI-powered closed-circuit television (CCTV), and environmental sensors. These poles will enable real-time data collection to optimize traffic flow and safety.

Additionally, the units will feature electric vehicle (EV) chargers, digital signage, and emergency call buttons directly linked to first responders, offering convenience and reduced response time during emergencies.

Hyun Shin-Gyoon, CEO of LG CNS, highlighted, “Smart infrastructure is essential to accelerating city development, improving operational efficiency, strengthening public safety, and enhancing the daily lives of residents.

“LG CNS will work closely with the City of Hogansville, drawing on our proven smart city experience in Korea and across the Asia Pacific region, to help build a more sustainable and livable urban environment.”

The initiative will focus on downtown Hogansville and city parks, with plans to expand to neighboring cities, including LaGrange and West Point.

LG CNS’s focus on driving data-driven urban management reflects the strategic potential of public-private partnerships in bridging societal technological gaps and advancing an AI-powered future.
