  • US cable incumbent Comcast Corp has been forced to revise its strategy as more and more US consumers either discontinue their cable services - or opt for cheaper alternatives. The emergence of OTT players such as Netflix and Amazon have also added significantly to the increasing pressure on traditional cable companies.

  • Iceland has been forced to deploy new 'fast charging' infrastructure across its capital Reykjavik, following the rapid increase and adoption of electric vehicles in the country. Iceland's government has been aggressively pursuing the electrification in its transport sector, and Icelandic motorists are acutely aware of the benefits of moving away from fossil-fuel powered cars towards clean electric vehicles.

  • A comprehensive new report which was compiled by Juniper Research has projected that spending on Internet of Things cybersecurity solutions is set to rise by an incredible 300% in the next five years.  The global research firm has estimated that investment in Internet of Things cybersecurity solutions will reach $6bn globally by 2023.

  • Nissan Motor and Renault have announced details of a joint venture it has established with Chinese automotive firm Dongfeng Motor Group. The primary objective of the joint venture between the three businesses is to develop and manufacture 'electric cars' in the country.

  • German car manufacturing firm Volkswagen has delighted their customers by publicly announcing its plans to reincarnate its famous microbus! The iconic VW microbus which became a symbol of hippie counterculture in the 60's was in production from 1950-1980.
